Somatic Unwind Workshop with Renata | Studio

Sat, October 11, 2025 | 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Connect with your body’s quiet intelligence in this movement practice designed to support your natural capacity to settle, soften and restore.

Somatic movement is mindful, exploratory movement that invites you to sense and move from the inside out—rather than aiming for a particular shape or external form—focusing on how movement feels and heals.

In the somatic world, soma generally refers to the living body as experienced from within. So, in somatic practices, we turn our attention inward, often with the eyes closed or softened, and listen to the body’s cues—noticing tension, ease, breath, or where we want to move next. Movements might be small, even micro—like rocking, spiralling, or sensing into a joint or muscle group to allow it to unwind.

To me, it feels like a conversation with my body: very curious, often surprising, deeply nourishing.

Somatic movement can be helpful for:
  • Accessing greater freedom in your body, especially if your usual movement/sport/exercise is very structured or intense. Somatic movement can help restore natural movement patterns.
  • Tending to pain, stress, trauma or fatigue. Somatic movement help reconnect with the body’s innate intelligence.
  • Shifting out of feeling “tired but wired”. Somatic movement can create the conditions for deep rest.
This movement experience will include:
💪🏽 Gentle strength – subtle movements that support joint health, stability and muscle awareness, especially around the hips and spine.
🌀 Nervous system regulation – slow pacing, grounding touch, gentle breathwork and permission to do less.
✨ Imagery-based exploration – a deep dive into your imagination to shift movement from effort to curiosity.
💗 Body kindness – reflection on how our thoughts around movement (and injury) shape how we feel.

No experience required. Bring a notebook or journal.
